HOW

WE

WORK

No Strings’ programmes are designed to create lasting behaviour change and improved wellbeing, moving through the following stages to reach target audiences in different parts of the world.

We work through Partnerships
We work through partnerships with major NGOs and international bodies, reaching communities through local staff and partner networks who we train in country. Organisations we have collaborated with include Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Oxfam, Save the Children, Unicef, Plan International, IOM (UN Migration), Trocaire, and Born Free.

Our programmes are informed by expert knowledge and research
Whether we’re creating new films or using existing ones in new programmes / partnerships, we work with experts to fully inform message content and outreach design, and seek target audience input.

We make Films
We work with some of the biggest names in the puppet world to create films that bring identified messages to life in a way that is accessible, entertaining and powerful.

We design outreach
curricula
Based on an understanding of desired outcomes, audience profile and partner capacity, we design a full curricula through which to engage target audiences. Sessions are made up of age-appropriate activities that use puppetry to empower participants with the confidence to make a film’s key messages their own. Sessions can be up to two hours in length, and we can create anything between two and 12 sessions per target group.

We train local facilitator staff
The No Strings workshop team, including professional puppeteers, run five-to-seven day trainings in country, following with initial roll-out support. A full manual is provided to guide facilitators, and any future facilitator-led training.

We support with research design and planning
We use our experience to support partners’ roll-out and impact research design. In turn, we take the many learnings from their experiences and feed this into future project development.
